It appears the Cavaliers are likely to stay at No. 3 in the upcoming draft and if that’s the case, Evan Mobley is the “overwhelming favorite” to be the selection, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony relays. Cleveland had expressed interest in moving up to No. 1 in the draft in order to select Cade Cunningham, though that kind of transaction appears unlikely at this time.
The franchise has been open to the idea of pairing Mobley with Jarrett Allen, who thrived last season after coming to Cleveland at the trade deadline.
Mobley, who went to the Cavaliers in our latest Mock Draft, was a bit coy when speaking to FortyEightMinutes and other media about which teams he worked out for in the pre-draft process.
“The teams won’t let me disclose who I’m working out for,” the USC big man told reporters on Friday.
