Let’s take a look at the latest trade rumors as the 2024 NBA trade deadline comes to a close.
Latest on the Lakers
There have been over a dozen trades so far, though despite the Lakers being the most talked about trade deadline team, Los Angeles still hasn’t made one.
TNT’s Chris Haynes reports that the Lakers are likely to stand pat as the deadline passes.
Dejounte Murray, Zach LaVine, Bruce Brown, Dorian Finney-Smith, Royce O’Neale, Spencer Dinwiddie, Malcolm Brogdon, Dennis Schroder, Tyus Jones, Andre Drummond, and Danilo Gallinari are among the players who have been linked to the Lakers in the weeks leading up to the deadline.
Tyus Jones Update
Several teams are interested in trading for Wizards point guard Tyus Jones, including the Magic, Spurs, Nets, and Lakers, sources tell Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
The Timberwolves were in the mix, though the team’s trade for Monte Morris takes them out of the Jones sweepstakes. Minnesota was rumored to have four second-round picks on the table for Jones, though Scotto hears that the offer was never made.
The Wizards are reportedly still looking for a first-round pick if they part with Jones. However, the franchise is putting out the message that they value Jones and could re-sign him this offseason if no trade occurs.
Active Sixers
The Sixers were expected to be in the mix to make multiple trades ahead of the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline and they’ve already delivered three trades.
So far during the trade deadline, the Sixers have:
- Acquired Buddy Hield from the Pacers.
- Sent Danuel House to the Pistons for a second-rounder.
- Sent Patrick Beverley to the Bucks, netting a second-rounder.
Philadelphia might not be done, as they remain in conversations with the Bulls for Andre Drummond. As for DeMar DeRozan, the Sixers are not expected to be in the mix for him.
Spencer Dinwiddie Update
There was some speculation that Spencer Dinwiddie wanted a trade and while he clarified that rumor, his second stint in Brooklyn comes to an end with the Raptors acquiring the point guard.
What About The Kings?

If Cleveland does make a trade of any significance, Isaac Okoro would be the player who would likely be on the move. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Kniicks are among the teams that have interest in the former No. 5 overall pick. The Hawks, Pacers, Suns, and Bucks also are monitoring Okoro.
Scotto hears from a rival GM that Okoro, who will be a free agent at the end of the season, could command $14 million annually in his next deal. The scribe adds that Okoro’s anticipated future contract will play a role in Cleveland’s strategy.
In order to retain Okoro and keep the rest of their roster intact, the Cavaliers now have to consider their appetite for going into the tax for the 2024-25 season amid uncertainty surrounding Mitchell’s long-term future in Cleveland.
With that in mind, Okoro is expected to draw interest at the trade deadline. The Knicks, Hawks, Pacers, Suns and Bucks are all teams to closely monitor as all are known to have interest in acquiring a two-way wing, league sources told HoopsHype.
