The Rockets and John Wall have mutually agreed to search for a trade and the veteran point guard is unlikely to suit up for the team as negotiations with other clubs are ongoing.
Houston has spoken to several teams already, including the Clippers, Heat, and Pistons, as Mitch Lawrence of Sirius NBA relays.
Some within the Rockets organization feel that the franchise took a PR hit with the James Harden trade and the team isn’t rushing to trade Wall with that in mind.
“We have to win this trade,” one Rockets’ executive told Lawrence of a potential John Wall trade.
One team that won’t be dealing for Wall: the Pelicans, as Bally Sports’ Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson tweets. New Orleans’ focus is on their young core of Kira Lewis & Nickeil Alexander-Walker. It’s also worth noting that the franchise recently acquired Devonte Graham & Tomas Satoransky.
