The Los Angeles Lakers eliminated the Houston Rockets with a dominant 98-78 victory in Game 6 of their Western Conference first-round playoff series on Friday night at Toyota Center. The Lakers pulled away fairly early and kept their foot on the gas throughout the game. After losing game 5 in Los Angeles they were determined to close out this series in Houston in game 6.
LeBron James led the way with 28 points on 10-for-25 shooting. He knocked down 2-for-5 from the free-throw line. James also grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out eight assists in a dominant performance.
Rui Hachimura provided strong support with 21 points on efficient 8-for-15 shooting, including 5-for-7 from three-point range. Austin Reaves added 15 points, and the Lakers pulled away with a ruthless second-half surge after a tight first half. The win sets up a second-round matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
