The Cleveland Cavaliers were determined to win Game 7 of this first-round series against Toronto. They wound up pulling away with a commanding 114-102 victory over the Toronto Raptors at Rocket Arena in Downtown Cleveland on Sunday night.
Jarrett Allen led the way with a playoff career-high tying 22 points on 7-for-11 shooting. Allen also grabbed 19 rebounds and dished out two assists. Allen also protected the rim, blocking three shots on the night. Allen was a monster on both ends, going to work in the paint and controlling the glass. He tied his playoff career high in points while nearly recording a 20-20 game with those 19 boards. He was the catalyst for the Cavs erupting with a 38-19 third quarter that turned a tight contest into a decisive win.
Cleveland flipped the script after a back-and-forth first half, outscoring Toronto 38-19 in the third. They built a double-digit lead that the Raptors could never fully overcome, despite a late push in the fourth. The Cavs’ defense clamped down, forcing tough shots while their offense flowed with ball movement and timely threes. They ended up pulling away led by the efforts of their Center, Jarrett Allen.
