The Miami Heat traveled to the TD Garden down 3-2 in their Eastern Conference series and avoided elimination by earning a huge 111-103 win. Now, the Heat are just one Game 7 win away from advancing to their second NBA Finals in three years.
“This is the way it should be, with these two teams. It should have gone seven games,” Miami coach Erik Spoelstra said. “I’m just really thrilled that our group gets an opportunity to compete in a Game 7 in front of our home crowd.”
Jimmy Butler scored a game-high 47 points. After struggling the past few games Butler absolutely exploded in game 5. Butler shot 16-for-29 from the field. Butler shot 4-for-8 from behind the three-point line. He also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out eight assists. Butler put on one of the best performances in NBA Playoff history. Kyle Lowry spoke on Jimmy Butler’s performance during the postgame interview they did together.
“It’s (expletive) incredible,” Lowry corrected him, apologizing for his language to the TV cameras in the back of the room and begging not to be fined by the league. “It’s incredible to have a guy like him next to me. I’ve played with some great players, and he’s one of the best.”
