Forward/center Larry Nance Jr. and point guard Matthew Dellavedova are entering the NBA concussion protocol and will miss the Cavalers’ final two preseason games, per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.
The Cavs wrap up the preseason with two games at New York, slated for Wednesday and Friday.
Along with a concussion, Nance has a sprained jaw, Fedor noted. The 6-foot-9 big man started in place of Kevin Love in the Cavs’ home win over the Pacers on Monday.
Nance did not play in the second half after taking an accidental shot to the face from Pacers power forward Domantas Sabonis.
Meanwhile, Dellavedova took a tumble in the preseason opener over the weekend and did not play Monday.
Both Nance and Dellavedova could be available for the season-opener Dec. 23 vs. the Hornets.
Along with Love (sore Achilles), Collin Sexton (ankle), Cedi Osman (ankle), JaVale McGee (undisclosed), Kevin Porter Jr. (personal) and Charles Matthews (knee) have all been sidelined. None of the injuries are considered serious and a few of those players could still play in the preseason.
