Sports betting in Florida is close to being an everyday reality. The Seminole Tribe announced that sports betting will launch at sports betting at all six of its casinos in December and there are plans to celebrate “A New Era in Florida Gaming” with star-studded celebrations, according to a press release.
In addition to sports betting, roulette and crabs will be available at the six locations.
“With the expansion of the new scope, we are creating over 1,000 new jobs made possible by the Compact,” Jim Allen, CEO of Seminole Gaming and Chairman of Hard Rock International, said in the statement.
“This is a historic milestone that immediately puts Florida in the same league with the world’s great gaming destinations.”
Here’s the exact timeline of the in-person sports betting launch where fans will be able to bet on Jimmy Butler and the Heat or Paolo Banchero and the Magic among other teams:
- December 7: the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Seminole Classic Casino in Hollywood, and Seminole Casino Coconut Creek.
- December 8: Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa.
- December 11: Seminole Casino Immokalee (near Naples), and Seminole Brighton Casino (on the northwest side of Lake Okeechobee).
Latest on Mobile Betting
There will be a limited rollout for the relaunch of mobile betting.
“The Seminole Tribe is offering limited access to existing Florida customers to test its Hard Rock Bet platform,” Gary Bitner, a spokesperson for the tribe, said in a statement Tuesday (h/t ABC Local 10).
No word yet on how many customers will have initial access and what the limitations are.
