Guard Play Will Be Key

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey exploded in Game 1 with 38 points (14-21 FG, 5-8 3FG, 5-5 FT) helping lead the Sixers to a 131-111 victory over the Toronto Raptors.  James Harden contributed with 22 points and 14 assists in his Sixers playoff debut providing such excellent guard play that hasn’t been seen since the early 2000s.  For Game 2 expect the same performance from both Harden and Maxey with Toronto losing their star wing defender Scottie Barnes to a sprained left ankle in Game 1.

Props to Watch

  • James Harden Over 10.5 assists (-136)

Game 1 James Harden led all players in assists throughout the entire NBA with 14.  Watch for Harden to continue his playmaking dominance getting his teammates involved, averaging 10.3 in the NBA regular season.

  • Tyrese Maxey Over 18.5 points (-115)

Maxey was unguardable in Game 1 with his 38-point scoring outburst making him the youngest 76ers player ever with a 30-point game passing the legendary Maurice Cheeks.

Breaking Down Star Matchups

The Raptors held the NBA Scoring Champion Joel Embiid to 19 points in Game 1 with their tenacious defense and energy.  Expect Embiid to take over and be more involved in the offense inserting his dominance.

Pascal Siakam will have his hands full on offense and defense with the absence of Scottie Barnes due to injury.  Siakam will need to shine bright for the Raptors to have a chance in Game 2 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Extra Possessions Will Be Key

The 76ers were all over the ball in Game 1 outrebounding the Raptors on the offensive glass landing 10 offensive rebounds over the Raptors 7.  Energy and Pace will be major again for Game 2 when it comes to extra possessions because they will make the difference and separate both teams.  Turnovers will also be a major key for both teams as the Sixers ended Game 1 with only 3 turnovers.  The Sixers did an excellent job going after the basketball and taking care of the rock making a big-time statement that will need to be duplicated to win Game 2.
