The Miami Heat held their annual Holiday Tech Giveaway, presented by AT&T. The AT&T East Plaza, which houses the fan-favorite 601 Lounge, was electric. Families from across Miami-Dade poured into the area. The AT&T East Plaza was transformed into a kid’s dream. There were inflatable basketball games, inflatable dart and ax boards, face painting, and other interactive stations and games for the youth to participate in.
Miami Heat former players turned staff were introduced to the crowd before the big giveaway began. These players and staff included Glen Rice, Ruth Riley, and Bob McAdoo. Former Heat Legend and current Vice President of Player Programs, Alonzo Mourning, addressed the crowd and got them pumped up. Then the most impressive part of the night began.
With the help of their sponsorship partners AT&T and Human IT, the Heat gave away brand new laptops and Miami Heat or AT&T bookbags to over 300 Miami-Dade youth. The looks on the kids’ faces when they got their gifts and got to meet the staff and players were truly priceless. The Heat understands what it means to not just give back to the community. But to truly be a part of the Miami community. This is what makes HEAT NATION unique and another reason why the Miami/South Florida community rallies behind this organization. A great way to spread the Christmas cheer!
