The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference’s seven-vs-eight seed Play-In contest by a score of 116-105.
Many did not expect the Hawks to win the matchup, however, the team proved doubters wrong. Atlanta has now locked up the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference and will face the Celtics in the opening round.
Hawks head coach Quin Snyder had high praise for his squad postgame.
“Our guys are trying to be the best version of ourselves at the end of the year,” Snyder said. “The year’s not over. So hopefully we can take this and continue to build on it. It’s one game — but it was our game.”
Trae Young Delivers
Trae Young led the way with 25 points on 8-for-18 shooting. Young hit 1-for-8 from the three-point line. He hit 8-for-9 from the free-throw line. Young grabbed eight rebounds and dished out seven assists. Young spoke on his team’s performance postgame.
