Jimmy Butler went Super-Saiyan mode and had the game of his basketball life in game 4. Butler scored 56 points on 19-for-28 shooting from the field. Butler knocked down 3-for-8 from behind the three-point line. He also hit 15-for-18 from the free-throw line. Butler also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out two assists.
Butler’s 56 points were the fourth most in a game in NBA Playoff History. This was also a Miami Heat franchise record. The Heat came from 14 points down and big play after big play was made to complete the comeback. Jimmy Butler spoke on his team’s play and his performance postgame.
“We knew what we were capable of, even if nobody outside of this building, outside of this roster, and outside of this organization believed in us,” Butler said. “That’s fine. We just want to continue to do what we know is possible.”
The Heat are now up in the series 3-1. The Heat look to become just the fifth team to defeat a number one seed in the first round as an eighth seed.
