The Miami Heat defeated the Charlotte Hornets 104-87 to earn their 23rd season victory. The Heat are now 23-16 overall on the season. They also hold a 12-7 record at home at the Kaseya Center this year. Heat Head Coach spoke positively postgame about his team’s resolve and focus. They were playing on a big night for Dwyane Wade and a team that is struggling in the Charlotte Hornets. The Heat kept the intensity up despite of the outside noise and earned the win.
“This was potentially a trap game,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “I thought the approach was terrific and everything was generated, particularly in the first half, by our defensive effort.”
Bam Adebayo led the way for the Miami Heat with 24 points on 9-for-17 shooting. Adebayo hit 6-for-8 from the free-throw line. Adebayo also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out seven assists.
Tyler Herro scored 21 points on 7-for-15 shooting. Herro knocked down 4-for-9 from the three-point line. He hit 3-for-4 from the free-throw line. Herro grabbed seven rebounds, dished out four assists, and recorded a steal.
The Miami Heat also celebrated at halftime for Dwyane Wade being inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall Of Fame. Wade offered a heartfelt speech to Heat Nation. Pat Riley surprised Heat fans and Wade by announcing the Miami Heat would erect an eight-foot statue of Wade’s likeness out of the Kaseya Center. The statue will be debuted in the Fall of 2024.
