Injury Roundup: Wall, Okoro, Gallinari, Allen, Knicks, Collins

Let’s take a look at some injury and availability updates from around the league:

  • John Wall returned to practice on Wednesday and will make his Rockets’ debut today against the Kings. Wall had to sit out because of an NBA-mandated quarantine but the point guard said he was “able to get some work in on the low” and is ready to suit up, or ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.
  • Cavaliers rookie Isaac Okoro hasn’t played since suffering a sprained left foot on Saturday and he was placed into the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocol, so he likely came in contact with someone who had tested positive. He’ll likely miss Cleveland’s current six-road trip.
  • T.J. Warren won’t play against the Cavs as he’s dealing with left foot soreness, per the league’s injury report.
  • Terrence Ross (right hamstring irritation) won’t play against the Sixers today, per the Magic.
  • Lauri Markkanen is questionable vs. the Wizards with a calf ailment. The Bulls forward suited up in Tuesday’s contest in Washington despite being questionable, though he was pulled early because of the injury.
  • Danilo Gallinari left Wednesday’s Hawks-Nets game with a sprained ankle. The forward has only suited up in two games for Atlanta, leaving both with injury (Gallinari suffered a contusion in his left foot during the opener).
  • Grizzlies guard Grayson Allen sprained his left ankle on Wednesday against the Celtics, per the team. Desmond Bane started the second half in place of Allen. This is the second member of Memphis’ backcourt on the mend this week with Ja Morant‘s suffering a severe ankle sprain.
  • Frank Ntilikina won’t play for the Knicks against the Raptors because of a sprained right knee. Dennis Smith Jr. (quad), Omari Spellman (right knee), and Obi Toppin (right calf) are all out as well.
  • Austin Rivers (groin) went through his first contract drills of the season earlier in the week and while it was reported that there is no timetable for his return, the guard said he will suit up today vs. the Raptors. Rivers will be on a minutes restriction.
  • Wizards forward Rui Hachimura (bi-lateral epidemic keratoconjunctivitis) is making his season debut against the Bulls today, which is much earlier than anticipated.
  • Zach Collins underwent surgery to repair a left ankle stress fracture on Wednesday and is out indefinitely
