The Los Angeles Lakers earned their 17th victory of the season with a 133-112 blowout victory over the Charlotte Hornets in L.A. The Lakers are now 17-15 overall and are 11-4 at home this season. Austin Reaves who scored 16 points, grabbed two rebounds, and dished out four assists spoke postgame about the Lakers’ win and their confidence each time they hit the floor.
“I believe that every time we step on the court, we can beat anybody we play,” Reaves said. “But just really figuring out what our identity is, in my opinion, the main thing, because we can be so good when we figure that out.”
Anthony Davis led the way for the Lakers with 26 points. He scored his 26 on 11-for-19 shooting. Davis knocked down all four of his free throws. He grabbed eight rebounds, dished out two assists, recorded two steals, and recorded four blocks. Davis spoke on his team’s play postgame.
“Guys were playing for each other, playing the right way,” said Davis, who also blocked four shots. “Anytime I’m able to bank some minutes, especially going into a tough back-to-back in Minnesota and New Orleans, it helps us as a team.”
LeBron James scored 17 points two days before his 39th birthday. He scored his 17 on 7-for-13 shooting from the field. James grabbed four rebounds and dished out 11 assists as well. Anthony Davis had high praise for LeBron’s level of play postgame.
“It’s always good things that happen when the ball is in his hands,” Davis said. “He makes great reads. He’s a student of the game. He’s seen every coverage and made a lot of great reads throughout his career, so every time we can get the ball in his hands, it’s good for us.”
