The Milwaukee Bucks traveled to Portland and earned a blowout victory over the Trail Blazers, 137-108 victory. The Bucks have now earned their 33rd victory of the season and are 33-21 overall. Bobby Portis was on fire and led the Bucks to victory. Portis scored 30 points on 11-for-13 shooting from the field. Portis also shot 6-for-8 from the three-point line. Portis also grabbed four rebounds and dished out five assists. Bucks Mike Budenholzer spoke postgame about how he has been encouraging Portis to be confident and shoot the ball. The Bucks need Portisβ scoring and he has taken heed.
“Sometimes I need to encourage him to shoot when he’s open. Tonight he needed no encouragement once he made a couple. I love it when he’s that aggressive, that confident and willing to just let it fly. He was special tonight,” Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said about Portis.
Portis spoke postgame about his mindset heading into the game and how he went out there and executed.
“I shot the same shots I’ve been shooting the last couple of weeks. Some decided they’d go in the last couple of games,” he said. “I’m just going out there being myself and having fun, being spirited.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 29 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the field. Antetokounmpo shot 7-for-12 from the field. He also shot 4-for-7 from the three-point line. Antetokounmpo also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out six assists on the night. Antetokounmpo and Portis both did all of their damage in three quarters of play. Both sat out the entire fourth quarter. The Bucks were up 107-75 after three quarters so the game was in hand.
