Spencer Dinwiddie has a few nice plays with Daniel Gafford during the Wizards’ first preseason game of the year and afterward, he shared his thoughts about the center with FortyEightMinutes and other reporters via zoom.
Dinwiddie called Gafford a “phenomenal athlete” while comparing the Wizards center to Jarrett Allen. Prior to Allen joining the Cavaliers, Dinwiddie and Allen played together in Brooklyn.
“That’s my guy so I’m not knocking Jarrett at all. But just the way he’s able to move, it’s a little more guard-like than Jarrett was,” Dinwiddie said of Gafford.
Dinwiddie added that Gafford may be the Wizards’ best dunker, something that’s unusual for a center. We’ve seen big men compete in the dunk contest before and perhaps this is a year for Gafford to consider participating.
