Sixers Have Eyes on 5-10 Players as Targets in Ben Simmons Trade

Ben Simmons is likely to remain with the Sixers through the start of the season, as the front office hasn’t found a favorable offer for the former No. 1 overall pick.

The team is unlikely to trade Simmons for a deal that’s heavy on draft picks. Philadelphia wants to win now and according to Tom Moore of The Bucks County Courier Times, the club has about 5-10 players in mind as suitable targets in a Simmons deal. However, none of the bunch are available at this time.

We know that Damian Lillard is on their list. Same with Bradley Beal but both are perceived as unavailable in trade discussions. It’s unclear who the remainder of the players on Philadelphia’s list are.

Philadelphia is preparing to start the season with Simmons on the roster, confirming a previous FortyEightMinutes report. The team won’t simply trade the All-Star to the highest bidder. Instead, the club will be patient with the situation regardless of awkwardness.
