All communication directly from the Sixers’ front office indicates that they are comfortable moving forward with Simmons through the 2021-22 season, however. Charania writes that all signs point to a breakup regardless of timeline.
Philadelphia has had “expansive” discussions with several teams, including the Timberwolves and Raptors, though the Sixers haven’t been able to come close to a deal. The Wolves’ assets aren’t intriguing to the team while Toronto’s offer hasn’t been to Philadelphia’s liking.
It appears Philadelphia is holding out hope that Damian Lillard will become available but that is unlikely at this time.
