Superstar forward Kevin Durant will get to face the only team with which he won a championship. Two championships, in fact.
As Brooklyn Nets coach Steve Nash relayed Friday, Durant returned to practice and will be a “full go” to play against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.
Durant has missed three games after being pulled twice during the same game, Feb. 5 vs. the Toronto Raptors, because of COVID-19 concerns. He has tested negative for the virus in each of the previous six days, clearing him to return.
Durant advanced to three Finals with the Warriors, winning back-to-back Finals MVPs honors in two Warriors championships. He suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in his third Finals, which the Warriors eventually ended up losing to the Raptors in 2019. He left the Warriors for the Nets in free agency after the season.
Durant is averaging 29.5 points and 7.4 rebounds in 18 games this season.
As an aside, Nash said center DeAndre Jordan will miss the matchup with the Warriors for personal reasons.
