NBA free agent forward/center Jason Thompson has agreed to a contract with the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.
Thompson, 34, had been playing for Spanish club Casademont Zaragoza. He spent time in Turkey and China before that.
Thompson is 6-foot-11 and last appeared in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors, appearing in 19 games during the 2015-16 season. His best years came with the Sacramento Kings from 2008-15.
Overall, Thompson has appeared in 588 NBA games and carries career averages of 8.9 points 6.6 rebounds.
Former NBA guard Jimmer Fredette is also a member of the Sharks and scored 70 points in a recent game.
