LaMarcus Aldridge has chosen his next destination to be the Brooklyn Nets, according to multiple sources including Shams Charania of The Athletic. Charania adds that it is a one-year, veteran’s minimum deal.
Aldridge was reportedly looking at the Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers following his buyout from the San Antonio Spurs. With many people thinking that Aldridge was headed to Miami, the 6-foot-11 forward-center decided on Brooklyn in a shocking twist of events.
Aldridge has gotten most of his offense this season on the catch-and-shoot, shooting those attempts at a 45.1 percentage clip.
That’ll figure to mesh in very well with the current Nets roster, as he’ll be sure to operate with lots of space on a team featuring Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving. He’ll help stretch the floor even more for his new team, which will make this offense nearly unstoppable to defend.
Aldridge is the second former All-Star player the Nets have added this month, as they signed Blake Griffin earlier this March.
