The Ben Simmons situation continues in Philadelphia and the list of suitors seems to be ever-expanding.
Longtime NBA journalist Mark Stein hears that the Hawks could emerge as a suitor for a Simmons. Atlanta has struggled to re-capture the magic they had last year and putting Simmons next to Trae Young is an intriguing on-court pairing.
The franchise doesn’t have the All-Star available that Daryl Morey would reportedly like, though they have a chest full of assets, including draft capital and players, young and old, on various contracts.
Last month, it was reported that there was still optimism league-wide that the Sixers will pull off a Ben Simmons trade before the end of the season and that the franchise had “ramped up” talks with rival teams.
The Knicks, Lakers, Timberwolves, Blazers, Kings, Pacers, and Cavs were all listed as potential suitors. Most of those teams were also reported as having some level of interest in Simmons previously. The Lakers have long been deemed one of Simmons’ preferred destinations and the Cavs were once reported as a destination where he wouldn’t mind playing.
