Kyrie Irving will not play or practice with the Nets until he can fully participate in team activities, Shams Charania of The Athletic relays from the organization.
Irving was recently cleared to participate in Nets practices after New York City determined the HSS Training Center, where the team practices, a private facility rather than an indoor gym.
That opened up the possibility that Irving could simply participate as a road-only player for the Nets, but the organization has decided against going that route.
While Irving himself never revealed his vaccination status, GM Sean Marks‘s comments seem to indicate that he’s yet to receive the COVID-19 vaccine shot. His inability to participate in last Friday’s home game against the Bucks seems to have confirmed that as well.
With Kevin Durant and James Harden still on this roster, the Nets still have a great chance to bring home a championship this upcoming season. It remains to be seen, however, if Irving will join them at some point.
