October 1 is officially considered the start of the NBA season by its calendar and that Bradley Beal is now eligible to sign an extension.
The Wizards have been open about their willingness to give Beal whatever contract he wants.
Beal is eligible for a four-year, $181 million extension. However, he can wait until July (when he is a free agent) and ink an estimated five-year, $242 million Super-Max deal.
Beal is “really excited about the team and the direction the team is going,” his agent Mark Bartelstein told Ava Wallace of The Washington Post recently.
The 28-year-old can sign an extension at any point during the 2021-22 league year.
