Jarrett Allen is going to get paid this offseason and while the payday will likely come from Cleveland, several other teams are interested in picking up the big man.
The Wizards are among the teams expected to have interest in Allen this summer, sources tell Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. Haynes names the Pistons, Raptors and Spurs as other clubs to watch,
Washington’s center woes have been apparent this season. Although Thomas Bryant will return from his ACL injury, the Wizards won’t put all their eggs in TB’s basket given the potential for setbacks as well as Bryant’s contract which expiries at the end of the 2021-22 season. Robin Lopez is a free agent at the end of the year; ditto for Moritz Wagner, so Tommy Sheppard will have to potentially have restock the frontcourt.
Of course, Allen is a restricted free agent, which means Cleveland has the ability to match any deal—something they are likely to do.
