The Timberwolves are expected to re-engage with the Rockets on trade talks surrounding small forward P.J. Tucker, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
The Timberwolves and Rockets reportedly held some discussions regarding Tucker during the offseason. Per Kelly Iko of The Athletic, multiple teams have inquired about Tucker’s availability.
Tucker, 35, is among the last remaining regulars from the James Harden era in Houston, and was reportedly not happy about not receiving a contract extension. The Rockets may have also found a younger, Tucker-like replacement in guard/forward Jae’Sean Tate.
Known for his perimeter defense and timely 3-point shooting, Tucker is averaging 5.6 points while shooting 52 percent on threes.
The 76ers and Wizards may also have an interest in Tucker, per recent reports.
