The Philadelphia 76ers have been fined $25,000 for violating the NBA’s rules on injury reporting, the league announced.
The Sixers failed to list star guard/forward Ben Simmons on their injury report for Saturday’s game vs. the Nuggets, then held him out because of a knee injury. The NBA requires teams to be transparent in reporting players’ availability.
Simmons will again be out Monday, when the 76ers face the Hawks. He is one of eight Philadelphia players unavailable, joining forward Terrance Ferguson (personal reasons), Furkan Korkmaz (adductor strain) and five others because of the league’s healthy and safety guidelines.
