The Kyrie Irving saga continues as the point guard remains away from the team. While the Nets don’t appear pleased with Irving after leaked video of him attending a party without a mask surfaced, Tommy Dee of SNY.tv reports that Irving isn’t pleased with the franchise either.
Irving is reportedly “furious” with the organization over the hiring of Steve Nash as the coach. The former Duke product was not in favor of Nash leading the club and wanted more say in the matter.

Dee also hears that Irving’s relationship with Kevin Durant has been “very distant” recently. Durant recently returned to the team after being sidelined because of COVID-19 protocols while Irving is away for “personal reasons.”
Multiple outlets had reported that Irving’s personal leave was due to frustration over social issues, coming in the wake of the events in Washington D.C. last week. However, with the video of him at a crowded birthday party surfacing, the Nets taking away Irving’s game checks for violating the league’s COVID-19 protocol is on the table.
The Nets were reportedly open to giving up Irving in a James Harden trade (check out the full story on the blockbuster deal here). There hasn’t been any indication that Houston would have been interested in taking Irving back, however.
