The Sixers are listening to offers for Ben Simmons and the team is seeking an All-Star caliber player in return for the former No. 1 overall pick, per Jason Dumas of KRON-TV.
Philadelphia reportedly rejected an offer from the Pacers that consisted of Malcolm Brogdon and a first-round pick for Simmons, Dumas relays. While Brogdon would be a nice fit in Philly, the franchise undoubtably has its sights on bigger targets, including Damian Lillard should the point guard force his way out of Portland.
One former assistant GM recently told FortyEightMinutes that Ben Simmons‘ value around the league will likely allow the Sixers to put together a more competitive package in a trade for a star than most other teams, including one from New Orleans that includes Brandon Ingram.
Agent Rich Paul recently met with Sixers director of basketball operations Daryl Morey and general manager Elton Brand to discuss Simmons’ future with the franchise. Paul not Simmons has requested a trade from the franchise, though it’s clear that the All-Star’s reps remain in the loop, as the two sides are expected to have future meetings throughout the summer.
