The Nets came into Philadelphia on Thursday night and blitzed the Sixers, winning 129-100 in a game that was never close.
Some may call it a statement win. Kevin Durant believes the team is simply playing up to its potential.
“I mean, we always had confidence in ourselves,” Durant told the local media on Thursday night. “I wouldn’t say that this game was one of those games that built our confidence even more, this was just a regular game and we were just excited that we came out here and executed the game plan. We are going to need to do that going forward if we are going to put ourselves in good position, so it’s just another one on our schedule and we are just looking forward to the next one.”
Oddsmakers seem to be bigger believers in the Nets’ chances at the title this season after the win. The team was +800 to win the championship prior to the game in Philly while they opened on Friday morning at +650.
