The NBA is expected to lift the moratorium on trades and signings sometime within the next week, as relayed by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Teams haven’t been able to make moves since the league opened a small window for signings in June. Per Wojnarowski, they again will be able to wheel and deal starting a two or three days before the draft, scheduled for a week from Thursday (Nov. 18).
The league announced late Monday that the free agency negotiating period will begin Nov. 20, with signings to take place Nov. 22. Training camps are set to open Dec. 1.
A 72-game regular season will tip off Dec. 22, the league announced.
It has not yet been determined (or perhaps decided) when an in-season trading deadline will take place.
The NBA is also said to be working on a date for the All-Star Weekend, though that remains very much up in the air. Indianapolis is this season’s host, with Cleveland set to host in 2021-22.
