Undrafted Michigan center Jon Teske will be in an NBA training camp, having signed with the Orlando Magic, as detailed in a report from Rick Noland of the Medina Gazette.
Teske, 23, is 7-foot-1 and a product of Medina (Ohio) High School. He played all four seasons at Michigan, averaging 11.6 points and 6.7 rebounds as a senior. He shot 50.1 percent from the field for his college career.
“It’s the best fit for me right now as a player,” Teske told Noland of joining the Magic. “A couple other teams were interested, but for me to showcase my talents and play within my skills, it’s a big advantage going there.”
The terms of the contract haven’t been announced, but it is likely an Exhibit 10 “make good” deal — or one-year, minimum salary contract. An Exhibit 10 contract would all a bonus of up to $50,000 if he is waived and remains with the Magic’s G-League franchise for at least 60 days.
Teske is represented by Aaron Turner (Orange High School) of the Versus Basketball Agency. Versus also represents Indiana Pacers standout Victor Oladipo, Charlotte Hornets point guard Terry Rozier (Shaker Heights ) and New York Knicks forward Kevin Knox, among others.
