The Lakers were without their big man and superstar Anthony Davis this game. Davis missed the game due to Achilles Tendinosis.
Despite Davis being out, LeBron James was still in the lineup. He did work and dropped yet another Triple-Double. James scored 28 points, pulled down 14 rebounds, and dished out 12 assists.
The Lakers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 119-112. This is the 5th straight victory for the Lakeshow and they now improved to 19-6 on the season. This was their second straight overtime win. They went to double overtime Saturday night against the Detroit Pistons. James was more satisfied and felt better after this single overtime game than the game on Saturday.
“I’m good with one overtime compared to two overtimes,” James said. “Get home a little bit earlier and my heart doesn’t feel as bad as it did the other night.”
LeBron is 36 years old now and those grind out games take a toll on the body. The Lakers know that this is a Marathon, not a sprint. They will enjoy this win and get ready for another matchup against the Thunder on Wednesday at Staples.
