Kings forward Jabari Parker has yet to make his debut this season, with back soreness and personal reasons keeping him away from the team.
But he is back in Sacramento now, coach Luke Walton said Wednesday, and could be ready to go soon. Parker will have to go through the healthy and safety protocols before receiving clearance, Walton added.
Parker, 25, appeared in six games with the Kings last season after a February trade with the Hawks.
More out of Sacramento
- Walton was unable offer any new information on valuable point guard De’Aaron Fox, who suffered a hamstring injury in Wednesday’s win over the Bulls. “I don’t have an update yet,” Walton told reporters. “We’ll probably know much more later tonight and tomorrow. … Hopefully it’s not too bad and we can get him back on the court soon.”
- Fox suffered the injury midway through the first quarter and was replaced by rookie Tyrese Haliburton, who scored 15 fourth-quarter points. If Fox can’t go Friday vs. the Raptors, Haliburton is expected to get the start. The Kings sure have been pleased with him thus far.
- Fox is averaging 20.6 points, 6.3 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.9 steals this season. He recently signed a contract extension for five years and $163 million.
