Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat have been on an absolute tear as of late. As the team gets fully healthy the wins have been piling up. After a slow start to the season, the Heat seems to be turning it up a notch.
Butler led the Heat to another win. This win was over the New Orleans Pelicans 103-93. Butler led the team with 29 points and 9 assists. He scored his 29 on 10 of 14 shooting from the field. Heat Point Guard, Goran Dragic spoke on Jimmy Butler’s importance to the team’s success.
“You can see we trust him, we want him to have the ball in those moments and he always comes through,” DragicΒ said. “It’s awesome to watch him, what he’s able to do. He can manipulate the game, get to the free-throw line, make shots.”
Kelly Olynyk also came through a big way with a strong performance for the Miami Heat. He scored 18 points on 7 of 8 shooting from the field. He also hit 4 out of 5 from the three-point line. He grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 7 assists as well. If the Heat can get consistent contributions from Olynyk like this on a nightly basis then that just adds to their already potent offensive attack. Coach Spoelstra spoke on Olynyk’s strong play as of yet.
“He’s been taking his shots aggressively and that’s what you want your shooters to do,β Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. βHe’s a great shooter. He does create some spacing for us.β
The Miami Heat now head into the NBA All-Star break trending upward. They now sit at .500 with an 18-18 record on the season so far. This is good for 6th place in the Eastern Conference. Their next game is Thursday, 3/11/21 against the Orlando Magic. The game will be in Miami at American Airlines Center at 8 pm on NBA TV.
