Teams around the league continue to monitor Bradley Beal‘s situation in Washington, including the Warriors.
Golden State’s trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green wants the front office to acquire top-level talent in the hopes of truly competing for a title yet again and Beal is atop the stars’ wishlist, Marcus Thompson of The Athletic hears.
Yet, multiple sources have told FortyEightMinutes that nothing has changed in regard to Beal’s availability. Washington is entering the offseason with plans to build around Beal and Russell Westbrook and while the franchise would like to ink Beal to an extension this summer, should that not occur (financially, it makes sense for Beal to wait until he’s a free agent to sign a new deal), the Wizards aren’t going to panic.
“Beal and the franchise are aligned,” one source said while reiterating that the team isn’t going to trade Beal unless he requests it.
For the Warriors, that likely means searching elsewhere to make a major move. Golden State has the ability to compete with nearly any franchise in terms of being able to offer an enticing trade package. The organization holds the No. 7 and No. 14 overall picks in addition to having 2020 No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman on the roster.
