Blake Griffin is set to make his debut for the Nets on Sunday night, nearly two weeks after he signed with the franchise, Malika Andrews of ESPN relays.
Brooklyn kept the former All-Star out of the lineup in order to get him fully back into game condition. Leading up to his buyout with the Pistons, he was held out of the lineup with his last game coming on February 12.
In 20 games earlier this season, Griffin averaged a career-low 12.3 points per game while making just 36.5% of his shots.
More From The Eastern Conference
- John Hollinger of The Athletic believes the Sixers are the best fit for J.J. Redick should the Pelicans deal him before the trade deadline. Redick is making $13 million this season and the Sixers could match that salary by cobbling together some of their players on expiring contracts, like Mike Scott, Tony Bradley, and Vincent Poirier. However, it’s worth noting that Bradley has become more valuable to Philadelphia in the wake of Joel Embiid‘s injury.
- Seth Curry will miss the contest against the Kings as well as the one against the Knicks with a left ankle injury. Curry will be re-evaluated after the weekend.
- Mitchell Robinson has a chance to return to the Knicks’ lineup on Sunday vs. the Sixers, per the team. The center underwent surgery on his right hand back in mid-February and hasn’t played since.
