The Lakers have been linked to several trade targets as the 2024 NBA Trade Deadline nears.
Last month, it was reported that Dejounte Murray was on the team’s radar. Although, as we noted, the Hawks-Lakers rumors didn’t exactly make sense given that D’Angelo Russell was the Laker who was most likely to be traded in the deal.
It’s now being reported that the Lakers and Hawks are looking for a third team to send D’Angelo Russell to in order to complete a Murray trade.
Shams Charania (via Fan Duel’s Run It Back) indicates that the trade is centered around D-Lo, a 2029 first-round pick, and an additional pick swap.
It remains to be seen if the two sides can find a taker for Russell. He’s played well of late, as our own Rob Parks recently detailed in our Key Points series. D-Lo is averaging 25.8 points, 6.3 assists, and 1.0 steals while making 52.1 percent of his shots from behind the arc over his last six games.
