The Cavaliers selected Isaac Okoro with the fifth pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, as he showcased tremendous potential in the league on both ends of the floor.
Here are three reasons why Cleveland fans should feel optimistic about Okoro moving forward.
- Okoro is one of three rookies in Cavaliers franchise history to accumulate at least 500 points, 50 made three-pointers, and 20 blocks in a single season (per NBA.com). LeBron James and Kyrie Irving are the other two.
- Okoro was one of five rookies (along with LaMelo Ball, Tyrese Haliburton, Jae’Sean Tate and Anthony Edwards) to average at least 9.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game.
- He really came into his own offensively during the last 13 games of the season, as he averaged 15.7 points per game including three games of 20+ points.
