Bobby Portis has agreed to a two-year, $9 million deal to stay with the Bucks, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Portis, who cherished the organization’s culture and winning environment, turned down offers from the Mavericks and Heat, instead opting for stability and happiness.
“Sometimes, you get on teams where all guys talk about is money… It’s not like that over here,” Portis said. “Nobody talks about money. We talk about real-life sh*t; our families, we talk about what guys are invested in. We have great people in our organization. The training staff is top-tier people. We have coaches that really care about you as a human being.”
Portis averaged 11.4 points on 52.3 percent shooting primarily in a reserve role for the champs this season.
