The Warriors are planning to bring back Gary Payton II at some point over the weekend, according to The Athletic.
It’s likely that the franchise offers him a deal that extends beyond this season, although the terms are still being finalized.
Payton played for Golden State on a pair of 10-day deals, logging only 40 minutes during his 10 games in town. In addition to the Warriors, Payton, whose father is the Hall-of-Famer Gary Payton, has suited up for the Bucks, Lakers, and Wizards.
Golden State has one open roster spot after promoting Juan Toscano-Anderson from his two-way contract.
