Golden State Warriors center James Wiseman will get surgery on his right knee later this week, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic. Slater adds that the surgery will likely take place on Thursday or Friday.
Wiseman is said to have suffered a torn meniscus injury in his right knee in Saturday night’s game against the Houston Rockets, as the Warriors have spent several days getting multiple opinions from several different doctors before deciding that surgery is the best course of action.
The number two pick of the 2020 NBA Draft is averaging a solid 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, but problems with consistency and injuries have plagued the promising big man this season.
There is no current timetable for Wiseman’s return, but it seems likely he’ll be out for the rest of the season including a potential playoff run.
