The Warriors have exercised the third-year contract option on shooting guard Jordan Poole, the team announced in a release.
Poole, 21, is 6-foot-4 and drafted by the Warriors with the No. 28 overall pick in 2019. He has appeared in 61 games total with the Warriors, including four this year, and has compiled career averages of 8.7 points and 2.3 assists.
“Under the terms of the NBA’s current collective bargaining agreement, the first two years of a first round draft pick’s contract are guaranteed, while the third and fourth year of the contract are the team’s option,” the Warriors’ release explained.
The Warriors (2-2) play their first home game of the season Friday vs. the Trail Blazers.
