The Houston Rockets are making progress in trade talks centered on veteran guard Victor Oladipo, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
With Thursday’s 3 p.m. EST deadline looming, it appears the Rockets will have several options when it comes to pulling off a deal involving Oladipo.
“The Rockets are increasingly comfortable with the offers on Oladipo in the marketplace,” Wojnarowski reported.
Among the teams linked to a potential Oladipo trade — the Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks and Miami Heat.
It’s been reported that Oladipo, who will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, prefers the Heat. He is also said to have a “mutual” interest in the Knicks.
That said, it appears that opposing teams aren’t exactly ready to mortgage the farm in Oladipo deal.
“There has remained some reluctance in the marketplace on Oladipo based on his recent history of injury and missed games,” Wojnarowski wrote.
Oladipo, 28, is 6-foot-4 and is averaging 20.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists on the season despite being in and out of the lineup.
The Rockets (12-30) snapped a 21-game losing skid Monday by beating the Toronto Raptors. They are seeking young players and/or draft picks in trades.
