The Mavericks have had rebounding issues and while coach Rick Carlisle won’t say adding a big man is a need, he knows the franchise isn’t afraid to make moves.
“You know Mark (Cuban) and Donnie (Nelson),” Carlisle said (h/t Callie Caplan of The Dallas Morning News). “These guys are gunslingers. They’re riverboat gamblers, and they’re ready to talk about anything that would get the team better.”
Dallas was without Kristaps Porzingis for the early part of the season and although he’s helped in the rebounding department, the club could use additional reinforcements.
More From Texas
- The Rockets officially signed former Sixers center Justin Patton to a two-way contract, the team announces. In addition to Philadelphia, the former No. 16 overall pick has suited up for the Timberwolves and Thunder.
- Victor Oladipo may be nearing a return, Kelly Iko of The Athletic hears. The Rockets had their game on Friday and Saturday postponed due to weather-related issues in Texas and with the Toyota Center currently shut down by the government, it’s not certain that the Bulls-Rockets game on Monday will take place. Whenever the team returns to action, Oladipo has a good chance to join them.
- Christian Wood remains out with an ankle sprain and he hopes to return to the court before the All-Star break, as he details on his Instagram (h/t Mark Berman of FOX26 Houston). Wood hasn’t played since February 4.
