The Oklahoma City Thunder are open to trading veteran point guard George Hill, center Al Horford and power forward Mike Muscala to “any interested contender,” suggested Royce Young of ESPN.
Muscala’s contract expires at the end of the season, Hill’s and expires at the end of next and Horford has two years left on his deal.
“They appear to be one of the league’s most likely trade deadline dealers, and the opportunity is still there to trim the roster and field a more, ahem, developmentally minded team,” Young wrote.
Somewhat surprisingly, the Thunder are 15-21 and a mere four games back of the eighth and final playoff spot at the All-Star break. But as Young mentioned, that could change ahead with some moves ahead of the March 25 trade deadline.
“The Thunder will be one of the most active teams at the trade deadline,” Young predicted. “General manager Sam Presti has been chopping down the roster since last summer, and with another transactional window open, if there are takers, Presti won’t hesitate.”
