The San Antonio Spurs recently had a slate of games postponed because some of their players were forced to enter the NBA’s health and safety protocol, but that won’t keep them from moving forward in home games.
Instead, the Spurs will begin admitting 3,200 fans at home games starting March 12, when they tip off the second half of the schedule.
“We are thrilled to welcome our fans back to the AT&T Center,” said RC Buford, Spurs Sports & Entertainment CEO, in a statement. “We’ve always said we have the best fans in the NBA and playing in an empty arena has reminded us all of how fortunate we are to enjoy the amazing support we receive from our fans. We can’t wait to see, hear and engage with our fans again starting March 12.”
The Spurs will become the 15th team to allow fans in their home arena, which will mean only 15 teams will be playing in empty buildings.
More are expected to join in the season’s second half.
