The Sixers will keep Anthony Tolliver around even longer, as they plan to sign him to a contract for the remainder of the season (per Shams Charania).
Tolliver’s second 10-day contract with Philadelphia is set to expire over the weekend and while he hasn’t played much during his short time with the club, he’s fit in nicely. The franchise values his veteran mentorship and he provides depth in the frontcourt.
Tolliver isn’t likely to be a major part of the postseason roster for Philadelphia, though that’s subject to change. The 35-year-old plays a similar game to Mike Scott and if Scott struggles, Doc may lean on Tolliver as a change-up.
The 6-foot-8 forward has a career 37.3% mark from behind the arc. In his five games with Philadelphia this season, he’s averaging 12.4 minutes per game.
