Joel Embiid recently missed nine straight games after testing positive for COVID-19, but has looked good in his two games back.
With Embiid out of the lineup, other players have had to step up and play bigger roles. Now with him being back, those players are trying to readjust to their normal roles.
“Maybe, we should know how to play with each other, but I mean maybe there’s a little adjustment getting used to playing with him again,” Seth Curry said. “We just gotta figure it out and try to win games in the process.”
The Sixers have had multiple players, including Embiid, in and out of the lineup, which can negatively impact team chemistry due to a lack of continuity, which Tobias Harris alluded to.
“It’s gonna be a process,” Harris said. “We’ve pretty much had different lineups all throughout the season. It’s gonna be a process of rhythm and feel and then just getting the chemistry of how we’re gonna play, getting familiar with where guys like the basketball, how other teams are playing us as well so night in and night out, we’re gonna have different defenses that are going to be presented to us and we have to figure out how we can be successful out there.”
The Sixers currently sit with an 11-10 record, but with Embiid back, there is still plenty of time for them to improve their record and find themselves in contention for one of the top seeds in the Eastern Conference.
